Neon Queen Collective

The Neon Queen Collective is a trio of Austin-based curators dedicated to highlighting work from feminist artists of color. I worked with Jessi DiTillio, Kaila Schedeen, and Phillip Townsend to design the catalog for their first major two-part exhibition with Afro-Cuban artist, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, highlighting “the United States’ and Cuba’s roles in the transatlantic slave trade, the crumbling sugar trade in Cuba, and the socioeconomic and political impact on the descendants of enslaved Africans living on the island and in the United States.” Notes on Sugar: The Work of María Magdalena Campos-Pons opened at the Christian Green Gallery on February 2, 2018.
